Who we are
Tailstead is operated by Acerville Sparks Limited, company 09411384, the controller of customer personal information for this store. Registered business and correspondence address: Suite RA01, 195-197 Wood Street, London, E17 3NU, United Kingdom. Email: admin@tailstead.co.uk. This address is not our dispatch warehouse or an automatic product-return destination.
Information we collect
We collect information you provide when you order, contact us, create an account or subscribe, including your name, contact and delivery details, order information and correspondence. Payment services process payment details needed for checkout; do not send card details by email. Our store and its service providers also process device, browser, IP address, cookie and usage information to operate and secure the website and, where permitted, understand its use. We may receive payment, delivery and fraud-check information from our providers.
How and why we use information
We use information to process payments and orders, arrange delivery and returns, provide support and account services, maintain business records, prevent fraud and keep the store secure. For UK data protection purposes, our lawful bases are performance of a contract, legal obligations, legitimate interests in operating and protecting our business, and consent where required. We assess legitimate interests against your rights. Marketing messages and non-essential analytics are subject to applicable consent requirements; you can unsubscribe from marketing or change cookie choices without affecting order-related communications.
Who receives information
Shopify hosts and powers our store. Payment providers, fraud-prevention services, IT providers and professional advisers process information needed for their services. Orders are prepared and dispatched by a third-party fulfilment provider located in the UK, AW; we share necessary order, recipient and delivery details with AW and delivery carriers. Tailstead remains your retailer and support contact. We may disclose information where legally required or to protect legal rights. Information is not made public merely because you buy from us.
Shopify also processes certain information under its own privacy terms. See Shopify’s privacy policy and Shopify’s privacy portal for its processing and rights information.
Cookies and analytics
Essential technologies support functions such as the basket, checkout, security and your privacy choices. Where consent is required, non-essential analytics, including Google Analytics, should run only after the relevant choice. Use the store’s cookie/privacy controls to manage or withdraw consent; browser controls can also remove cookies. Blocking essential cookies may affect shopping functions. Consent withdrawal does not change the lawfulness of earlier processing.
Retention, security and international processing
We retain information only as long as needed for orders, support, legal and accounting duties, disputes and security, considering its purpose and applicable retention requirements. We use reasonable safeguards, but no online system is completely secure. Shopify and other providers may process information outside the UK. Where required, transfers rely on adequacy decisions or appropriate contractual safeguards, such as approved standard contractual clauses and the applicable UK transfer mechanism. Contact us for information about relevant safeguards.
Your rights and complaints
Subject to legal conditions, you can request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability of your information, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdraw consent. You can object to direct marketing at any time. Email us using the contact above; we may need to verify your identity and will respond within applicable legal time limits. These rights are not absolute, for example where records must be retained by law.
If you have concerns, please contact us. You may complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, or your relevant supervisory authority. Our store is not directed at children. Please contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information improperly.
Changes
We may update this policy as our services or legal requirements change. The current version and update date will appear here, with additional notice where required.
